Christmas in Argentina

After a 30 hour train ride, Gus and I arrived in the chaotic and enormous city of Buenos Aires in the beginning of December. We were not sure it was gonna be a place for us, but besides the chaos and the enormous distances, it has its beautiful spots and time flew by really fast.

Sunflowers everywhere

We were lucky to catch the new train, so the 30 hours were quite comfortable

Reaching Rosario we stretched our legs, but we were very tired and we still had quite some time left before getting to Buenos Aires

We went to San Telmo, a part of Buenos Aires, and we worked and also enjoyed the free tango shows.

Sundown seen from our hotel room

Castro has even reached Argentina (King Castro)

Working at Feria plaza Francia in Recoleta, our stand is the one on the left, and we got to spend the weekend with Lucila, great person and very talented artesana.

Christmas came early this year since the 19th the whole crazy family arrived to Argentina

Later on it was time for a dance with mother in law

After a great couple of days celebrating Christmas, we drove all the was to Santa Fe to spend a couple of days. Here we took a great boat ride at the river Paraná.

Gus enjoyed "driving" the boat. Another marinero in the family ?

For lunch the meat eaters enjoyed this grilled chicken. They were quite happy

and we had a small picnic

We are enjoying life and next stop is Cordoba for new years. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you will enter well in the new year.

In Tucuman to visit Nil

In Mexico I got to know the great argentinan girl, Nil, and now that I am in Argentina what more to do than visit her so that she could show me her city that I had heard so much about.
We had a couple of days with her, eating great home made food at her place, went out for empanadas with her and her boyfriend Maxi and last but definately not least we had a great traditional argentinian bbq at Maxi's house.

Homemade lunch, yummi

visiting Nil at the store where she is working

Out for traditional Tucuman empanadas, they should be some of the best in Argentina. And I can say, they are GREAT.

Sadly the time flies by very fast when you are having a good time and with good company. Nil and Maxi took us to the train station and we said goodbye to them there before our 30 hour train ride.
