Last couple of days in Colombia

I have been enjoying the last couple of weeks fully before I went back to Denmark. Gus, his sister, Paola, and I went to the mall and had some good pizza and to the movies. Great way to spend the Sunday afternoon.

yummi

Next Sunday, and last complete day in Bogotá, we went to Monserrate in the center of Bogotá. Even though I have been here so many times, I never went up on the famous Monserrate, so today was the day. There was a beautiful view of the city from up there, and we had a nice afternoon up in the cold.

huge city !

we of course we had a tamal with hot chocolate, since that aparently is tradition when you go up on Monserrate

Last day, Monday, and I spent the day with Gus, relaxed and having great lunch before leaving for DK.

It has been some interesting and amazing 16 months of adventure in South America, but I am very ready to go home, and see all of you back home, and hopefully spend a nice dansih summer. Even though the goodbye here was extremely tough.

Who would have thought - living in Bogotá

Everything has been a little weird lately. We came to Cundinamarca (the region where Bogotá is located) to find a place to rent for a month or so. We did not hav much luck in Zipaquirá, so a oportunity of living in Bogotá presented, and that seemed like the best idea at the moment.

So we have now been living here in Bogotá for around 2 weeks, and I have been enjoying having a fixed place to stay and lots of great cooking. The kitchen was very disgrusting though, so we had a crazy cleaning session:

after

We needed serious help from "BANG", and I can confirm that it is VERY efficient, just do not want to know what it contains really

I really enjoyed having a kitchen, so there has been a lot of cooking going on, and the result has been delicious :D

rice with eggplant, zucchini and some other vegestables

plátano burger with lental beef and fries. Yum

A couple of days ago I went to the gold museum here in Bogotá. There were some very beautiful gold objects, and I enjoyed  having a look around:

The famous gold poporo that the museum is famous for

sacred plant, yagé, that is used in traditional spiritual rituals

I am not a big fan of this city to be honest, it is big, chaotic and very polluted, but I  must admit that there are a couple of nice places in the center. There are some very cool wall paintings that I got a chance to take some pictures of:

Zipaquirá was very beautiful, but sadly we had no luck finding a place to stay, so now we are making the best of it in Bogotá :D
