In Medellín visiting Juliana

Juliana is a girl I had spanishclasses with in Denmark, and she lives here in Medellín. She is studying at the university so unfortunately she can't be with me during the days, but it is really nice to see anyways. And we can do something in the night.

Medellín is a BEAUTIFUL city. It is surrounded by a lot of mountains and the atmosphere is nice. The first day here I spent in different parks writing my journal and enjoying the nice sunny weather. I got to talk to some really hippie guys, and it was interesting to hear their way of thinking, but they were also a little bit stupid in my opinion, but nice to have someone to hang out with instead of hanging around alone. At night Juliana, her brother Luis Carlos and her room mate Christian and I went out to drink some aguardiente which is the tipical drink from Colombia, and everyone around here drink it whenever they go out. Something that I never tried before. They served mango with the alcohol. It was AMAZING, something we should start doing in Denmark.
Second day I went with Luis Carlos to a national park and walked around and looked at the beautiful nature. He is studying plants or something like that, so he could tell me a lot about the different things we saw. Awesome. To get to the park we had t take the metrocable, and the view was amazing from there and we could see all of Medellín and the mountains and everything. I love this kind of nature.
There is a plaza, plaza de Botero, where they have several very famous really fat statues made by the artist Fernando Botero. It is a crazy idea but cool as well. I sat on a bench and relaxed and looked at all the people passing by. In this part of town there is a lot of huggers I found out. And next to me was a really ugly and not very charming one. She had lipstick all over her face and I actually felt sorry for her.

On the sidewalks here they have all the names of the countries in South America. Cool idea!

The metrocable.

The less beautiful part of Medellín that we also could see from the metrocable.

A very tipical colombian woman who covers her hair when it started raining just a little bit. Nobody wants wet hair, doesn't matter if the rest of you is soaking wet as long as the hair is still goodlooking.

Fat statue.

Pitalito, San Agustin & Gustavo

I met this amazing guy, Gustavo, in the semaphore in Popayán and we have been spending a lot of time together. He is a street juggler and works in the semaphore. Last Monday we went to Pitalito, a little town in the state Huila. The busride was the worst I have every expirienced, it was crazy bumpy and it was some very long 6 hours. But we arrived in almost one piece and went to his grandma's house where we stayed the next 2 days. We went to the center hanging out in the parks there, drinking a beer and playing cards.
Then we went to San Agustin which is also a small city in Huila. It is really beautiful, and we found a place to sleep in the mountain for just 7 kroner every night, and we could use the kitchen and everything. It was primitive though, but I love it.
We went to see a waterfall, walked for hours with a lot of food that people on the marked had been given us for free. It included something like 2 kg of potatoes, a lot of tomatoes, beans, onions and pees. We came to a house in the middle of nowhere, and we kind of gave up on the idea about getting to the waterfall to cook, because it was still far away, so instead the very nice lady had us use her kitchen. That is something that only happens in Lokumbia.
We spent the nights listening to music and looking at the stars. It was amazing. But also really hard to say goodbye when I had to go back to Diana and her family.

Gustavo's room in Popayan.

The wall in his room.

Beautiful San Agustin

This is the house I some day want :p

The incredible view from a cabaña close to our place.

The kitchen we had in the house.

Making agua panela.

Looking for the waterfall.

Now I left Popayán and Diana and her family. It was tough, but I have the feeling that I'm comming back here soon. Now I'm in Medellin with Juliana and on my way out to explore the city. Over and out.

Visiting Natalia in Cali

Friday afternoon I took the bus to Cali to go visit Natalia who was also in exchange in Denmark last year. I arrived and took a cab to her house. The taxidriver was really cool, we talked about a lot of really cool stuff, and it was a lot of talking since it took us like 45 minutes to get to the house because of the more than crazy trafficjam they had. And he was even so nice that he lowered the price for me, very positive expirience with a taxiride.
Natalia came home at 1.30 at night, and by then I had gone to bed. So we didn't really get anything out of Friday, but that's what happens when you study at a university in Colombia :p
Saturday we went to the cinema and watch "water for elephants" a really nice movie. It was crazy though, because several times the movie had "black-out". The first time we all laughed, but by the 5th time it was actually just annoying.
At night we went out to a rock-bar, had a couple of beers and talked. It was really nice, and I really enjoyed spending time with this lovely girl.
Sunday I went back to Popayán, packed my stuff and got ready to go to Pitalito and San Agustin for a week, I'm sure that is gonna be a great expirience.

As you can see Naty is a pretty big fan of Barca.

Jep, to the people who are wondering, it is a dog I'm holding.
